Dr Ola Junaid MBBS MBA FRCPsych has over 30 years experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist. Ola is on the GMC Specialist Register for both Old Age Psychiatry and General Adult Psychiatry. He is experienced in the diagnosis and management of depression, anxiety, PTSD, psychotic disorders and dementia.
Dr Ola Junaid is a Special (Medical) Visitor appointed by the Office of the Public Guardian. He undertakes psychiatric and mental capacity assessments for the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection. He is regularly requested to provide independent specialist opinion to the Court of Protection on behalf of the Office of the Public Guardian. These cases are often complex and involve capacity assessments and or best interests cases. He is Section 12 approved under the Mental Health Act and is an Assessor under the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
Dr Junaid is frequently requested to provide reports on testamentary capacity, both current and retrospective. He also provides reports for Lasting Power of Attorney and Deputyship (COP3) applications.
Dr Junaid has over 25 years of experience providing reports to the Court in civil and criminal cases. He has received training in report writing and giving evidence in Court. Dr Junaid has been a Medical Member of the Mental Health Tribunal.
Dr Junaid is regularly instructed to provide reports on fitness to plead and fitness to litigate.
